Today, I would like to write about the English translation for the phrase
"前回(パケットを)送信した時刻からの経過時間."
This phrase appeared in a specification document for a proprietary
communication protocol.

Unclear and maybe ambiguous (my translation, yikes!)
the elapsed time from the previous transmission
(This could be misinterpreted to mean the elapsed time information that was included in the previous packet.)

Clearer
the elapsed time since the previous transmission

Clearest (a suggestion from the Japanese-to-English Prestidigitator)
the amount of time that has elapsed since the previous transmission
